Advantages of a Moon Boot:

Immobilisation:

Protection from further injury, promote faster healing and decrease pain and swelling.

Removable:

CAM Walkers / Moon Boots can be easily removed for showering / sleeping. (consult your doctor or specialist first)

Weight Bearing:

Allows the wearer to either partial or fully weight bear depending on injury. (consult your specialist or doctor first)

Maintain Function & Mobility:

Allows the wearer to remain active and get on with their daily lives.

  • Can be used from 2 years old

Tall Air Walker / Moon Boot

Examples of Use:

  • Severe Ankle Sprains
  • Undisplaced foot and ankle fractures
  • Undisplaced 5th metatarsal fracture
  • Undisplaced distal fibula fracture

Advantages:

  • Superior immobilisation of the Foot and Ankle
  • Increased ML support
  • Air bladders help to decrease swelling

Short Air Walker / Moon Boot

Examples of Use:

  • Undisplaced fractures of the toes

Advantages:

  • Superior immobilisaton of the Forefoot and Toes
  • Air bladders help to decrease swelling

*Note: the Short Air Walker doesn’t immobilise the ankle and thus is not suitable for ankle fractures.

Achilles Walker / CAM Walker with Raise

Examples of Use:

  • Achilles tendon repairs
  • Achilles tendon injury

Advantages:

  • Immobilises the Foot and Ankle at varying degrees of plantarflexion
  • Able to weightbear in large degrees of plantarlexion
  • Suitable for varying degrees of Range of Motion (ROM) from neutral / plantargrade to 40 deg plantarflexion

VacoPed Boot / Achilles CAM Walker

Examples of Use:

  • Achilles tendon repairs
  • Achilles tendon injury

Advantages:

  • Immobilises the Foot and Ankle at varying degrees of plantarflexion
  • Interchangeable soles allows weight bearing in plantarlexion
  • Suitable for varying degrees of Range of Motion (ROM) from -15º to 30º
  • Changeable liners for hygiene and comfort

Range of Motion Walker

Examples of Use:

  • Achilles tendon repairs
  • Achilles tendon injury

Advantages:

  • Immobilises the Foot and Ankle at varying degrees of plantarflexion
  • Lightweight
  • Suitable for varying degrees of Range of Motion (ROM) from neutral / plantargrade to 40 deg plantarflexion
  • Note: Not suitable for walking when in a high degree of plantarflexion
